How to stay in control, what we will do for you, and where to get help.
Gambling can be addictive
1. Our position
Gambling is entertainment, and it has a price. Over time the house edge wins — that is how every game here is built, and we say so plainly. A player who is losing control is not a customer we want.
[Company name] operates DOPE under licence number [Licence number] issued by [Regulator], and follows the player-protection rules that come with it.
2. Staying in control
- Decide your budget before you open a game, and stop at it.
- Set a time limit as well as a money limit.
- Never bet borrowed money, and never bet money that has a job to do.
- Do not chase losses. Raising stakes to get even is the most expensive mistake there is.
- Do not gamble to fix a mood, and do not gamble while drunk.
- Take regular breaks. Check the clock and check your balance.
3. Signs of a problem
- Betting more, or for longer, than you planned.
- Chasing losses to get even.
- Hiding your play, or lying about how much you have spent.
- Borrowing, selling or missing payments to keep playing.
- Losing interest in things you used to enjoy.
- Feeling anxious, guilty or irritable when you are not playing.
Any of these, treat it seriously now rather than later.
4. Tools we provide
Ask support for any of these, or read the self-exclusion guide. They are free, they are applied without argument, and nobody will try to talk you out of one.
- Cool-off — a short lock on the account. It ends on its own. You can still withdraw during it.
- Self-exclusion — a long or permanent close. It cannot be lifted early, and we will not reopen the account during the period.
- Deposit or loss limits — a ceiling we apply to your account. Lowering a limit takes effect at once; raising one takes effect only after a cooling period.
- Account closure — a clean exit, with your withdrawable balance returned.
During a self-exclusion we stop marketing to you, and we take reasonable steps to keep new accounts in your name closed.
5. Protecting minors
The service is for people aged 18 or older, or the legal age where they live, whichever is higher. Accounts found to belong to a minor are closed, their bets are voided and their deposits returned. If children use your devices, use device-level filtering software and never save a sign-in link where they can reach it.
6. Where to get help
- GamCare — free advice, self-help tools and a helpline.
- BeGambleAware — information and routes into treatment.
- Gamblers Anonymous — meetings, in person and online.
- Gambling Therapy — free online support in several languages.
- Your national health service or a local addiction service.
Support for family members exists too. You do not have to be the gambler to ask for help.
7. Contact us
Ask for any tool in this policy through support. Nothing you tell us about your gambling affects the money you are owed. Your withdrawable balance is always yours.
